Which kite should I start with?

A delta. They fly in the widest range of wind, they are forgiving of a bad launch, and they go up without anyone running. Our Ripstop Delta in Medium is the one we hand to nine out of ten first-time flyers. Add the tail set if you want it to look magnificent, which you do.

How much wind do I need?

Between about 6 and 20 mph for a single-line delta. If the leaves are moving and small branches are not, you are in the right window. Our Coastal Wind Meter exists because “it feels windy” is a poor unit of measurement.

Is a power kite dangerous?

It can be. A parafoil generates real pull and will move an adult. Start with the 2.0 m, fly it in an open field away from people and hard objects, and never fly one attached to yourself.

What is the difference between your line and hardware-store string?

Test rating and stretch. Our braided Dyneema is rated to 150 lb and barely stretches, so the kite answers the moment you pull. String stretches, frays and cuts your hands.

Do you sell spare spars?

Yes, for every framed kite we sell, for as long as we sell it and for at least three years after. Email us with the model and the broken piece.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Not at the moment. We would rather do one country properly.

Is my payment secure?

Card details are entered into fields hosted by our payment provider and are never stored on our servers. The whole site runs over TLS.
